Absolutely amazing realtor to work with, I’m a realtor myself, thru all these years, I meet so many realtors, she is one of the top ones I will be more than happy to work with.
I recently sold my condo through Anthea.
Other realtors offered me much lower commission tate but I chose her because she sold one of the unit in the same building 2 months before I put my condo on sale. And I thought because she recently sold one of the unit, she knew better about my condo than other realtors.
So, here’s the problem I’m having right now.
I paid special Levy for the Roof refurbishment on my condo and by the time I sold my condo, the work is completed and I was expecting to receive $2,400 refund from the strata.
But unfortunately, the Refund process got delayed. And I was unable to receive the refund.
So, I asked Anthea what I should do if I didn’t get the refund cheque before the completion date.
Because after the completion date, the refund cheque will be issued to the new owner, not me. Even though I paid all the money.
Anthea told me, as if it’s really easy, she will prepare and add the addendum to the contract so that When the Strata issue a refund cheque to the buyer, The buyer will forward the money to me.
She also told me she did the exact same thing two months ago when she sold the unit in the same building.
I thought, ok, I will be getting the money without any problems.
but, I was wrong.
I called Anthea on the completion day and asked about the addendum and she told me the buyer will not sign the addendum and She can’t help me and I’m on my own.
She knew about the special Levy because she sold the one of the unit in the same building but she didn’t add the addendum when I first signed the contract. Anthea should have added that when the buyer made an offer and when I accepted the offer. But she didn’t.
Now the buyer refuses to sign the addendum and I lost $2,400 of refund money from the strata.
I found out that the the buyer will not sign the addendum the day of completion by calling her.
When she was going to tell me that?
I guess she knew that the buyer would not sign the addendum all along but didn’t tell me until I called her on the completion day.
I felt that was very unprofessional.
Now I’m struggling to getting my $5,800 back on top of $2,400 of refund money. Because the buyer didn’t sign the addendum.
I am about to lose $8,200.
I wouldn’t be in this situation if Anthea added the addendum when I accepted the offer.
Anthea has been an invaluable help for my first purchase. Being from another country, I did not know much about the process in Canada and she did a great job at guiding me through everything.
I heard stories about agents doing little to nothing, only showing up at the end to sign papers and pocket their cut. This was not the case here.
Anthea took care of almost everything, from booking visits to dealing with the notary (who she introduced me to). She even got me movers! I barely had to lift a finger.
She quickly figured out what king of properties I was into and would focus on showing me things I’d like, not wasting my time with unnecessary visits. If I saw a listing that I liked, I’d send her the link and she would take care of the rest. She would also try to group visits on the same day, which is always nice when you’re busy.
Finally, Anthea was of great advise, she would not hesitate to tell me when there was a catch of if it was not a good deal. She did not push me into buying the first or most expensive place I saw.
Overall, I was very nervous about stepping into the housing market and Anthea made it a stress-free experience.
10/10, would recommend 🙂
When we decided to sell our house of 26 years, we were nervous. It was the fall of 2019, and the Vancouver real estate market was unsettled. Sales of detached homes were down, and prices were down, too. But, we had raised our family and we were ready to make a change.
We called Anthea. She was very patient with us and walked us through the process of selling our house . She came well prepared to these first meetings, with market stats and recommendations to make the process smoother. Anthea assured us that this was a very good time to list our property, and she was right!
Within a week we were in the fortunate position of being able to consider multiple offers on our house. The process of listing and selling took less than two weeks. We were delighted.
Anthea was a calm, guiding force who represented our interests and made sure that we got the right price for our home. We would not hesitate to recommend her to future buyers or sellers. She is thoughtful, patient and understands that buying and selling real estate is not just a financial decision, but also an emotional one.
Thank you, Anthea for helping us to sell our home!
