After moving to Vancouver and being new to Canada, my family and I wanted to buy a single-family home in a great neighbourhood, great schools and a little away from the busy city traffic. Like most buyers we were very picky about what we expected in an ideal home. This made it harder for us to consider different options, weigh the pros and cons and most importantly develop the intuition of which neighbourhoods are good and the technicalities of city/district laws.

We asked our friends, colleagues and former-neighbours for referrals for realtors who could help us. We spoke to a few realtors who came as referrals. They were all nice people but didn’t quite meet our expectations in terms of being easily reachable on different channels of communication and be proactive with guiding us. Speed and clarity in communication was a key consideration for us to work with a realtor.
