Stephen Foster and his team were the best realtor experience we could have hoped for. Stephen spent the time to get to know us during the long covid complicated run-up to our move from California to Vancouver Island. He clearly understood our needs and wants and was a wealth of experience and advice on all sorts of matters related to moving back to Canada. He was great at reviewing properties for us when we couldn’t come to the Island because of restrictions. When my wife and I decided to make the move from Ontario to BC in the summer of 2021, we were looking for a local, reputable Real Estate agent who knew the Greater Victoria Area. We began our search where many people start…Google and YouTube. We watched Stephen Foster’s real estate vlogs, and he came across our TV as someone we would enjoy working with – someone who was very engaging and with a genuine personality.

I met with Stephen on my own as my kids were finishing off school in Ontario, so that left me with a good 6 months to look for a home. Stephen was even more personable meeting him for the first time, and the fact that he did a similar cross-country move years ago made it more relevant to work with him and his colleague, Melissa McMahon.

Since we were still dealing with COVID, we started our initial meetings with phone calls as well as several group video calls with my wife back in Ontario. He asked many questions to ensure he knew exactly what we were looking for. Regardless of the communication medium, Stephen and Melissa were very prompt at answering our messages, and we were very thankful for their hands-on approach, especially when dealing with the market transition that started in March/April 2022.

Stephen and Melissa took the time to show me the homes that I wanted to view, and they took a relaxed approach without rushing. They provided me with the pros and cons of the immediate area as the island was unfamiliar to my family. After a few open houses, we finally found our “perfect for us” home and are enjoying our new life as BC residents – indoors and outdoors!

Moving a family of seven (two adults, three kids, 1 Labradoodle and 1 Gecko) is a daunting feat; however, our experience working with Stephen and Melissa alleviated the stress. Anyone who is looking to move locally, or make a cross Canada move should give them a call.
